ASTM A516 Gr 70, 65, 60 Steel Plate Specification ASTM A516 is the standard specification for making pressure vessels (such as oil tanks), material in carbon steel for moderate and lower temperature services, it will improve the notch toughness of the steel during the welding work.
ASTM A572 Grade 50 Steel Equivalent, Gr 65, 60 Properties ASTM A572 Grade 50 Steel. ASTM A572 grade 50 steel is a low-alloy high-strength structural steel with a yield strength of 50 ksi (345 MPa) and a tensile strength of 65 ksi (450 MPa). It has better mechanical properties than ASTM A36 steel. ASTM A572 contains 5 yield point grades:Grade 42, Grade 50, Grade 55, Grade 60 and Grade 65.
Dec 09, 2009 · The M indicates that it's for mixed gases. E71T-XM is a prequalified filler metal (Table 3.1) for A36 and A572 Grade 50 base metals, as long as the 572 is Grade 42, 50, or 55. I assume that you have Grade 50, which is the most common in structural applications. If it were Grade 60 or 65, that would complicate things a little.
ASTM Structural Steel Standards Infra-Metals Co.One of the most commonly used A572 grades is A572-50. This grade has an ultimate tensile strength of 65,300 psi and a high tensile yield strength of 50,000 psi. It is used in a broad array of structural applications, some of which include buildings, transmission

Low alloy steel ASTM A572 Gr 50 equivalent material steel Low alloy steel ASTM A572 Gr 50 is considered the "working horse" class and is widely used in in structural applications, heavy construction equipment, building structures, heavy anchoring systems, truck frames, and applications requiring high strength/weight ratios. Low alloy steel ASTM A572 Gr 50 is usually produced into steel plates, channel steel and heavy steel beams.
MECHANICAL PROPERTIES GRADE 65 STEELhigher strength such as those covered by.ASTM A572. The grade with,a y~eld strength of 65 ksi has the highest strength in the range of steels Govered by this standard:. Hence, a new project entitled '''Plastic Design in A572 (Grade 65) ·Steel" was sponsored in early 1967 by the American Institute of Steel Construction with a view towards extending

W-shapes of limited sizes with higher yield and tensile strength can be obtained by specifying ASTM A529 Grade 55, ASTM A572 Grades 55, 60 or 65 or ASTM A913 Grades 60, 65 or 70.
1.1 This specification covers five grades of high-strength low-alloy structural steel shapes, plates, sheet piling, and bars. Grades 42 , 50 , and 55 are intended for riveted, bolted, or welded structures. Grades 60 and 65 are intended for riveted or bolted construction of bridges, or for riveted, bolted, or welded construction in other applications.
