I've got a surface part that is going to have four operations:Rough pocket - 1/2" 3 flute Garr 223MA Flat EM(.100 step down, .125 step over) , Rough/Finish countour - 5/8" 3 Flute Alupower, Finish parralell - .375 2 Fl carbide(.05 stepover leaving .025 stock), Finish parallel - same ballnose(.01 step over).4130 steel - simply poor machinability or - The Home High feed rate, Higher speed. Something about Chrome Moly-41 steels just loves this. I hit my 4130 and 4140 at about.005 to.008IPR and about 150 SFPM or a bit more. I get a finish that is just unbelievable.
